Her audition: E.G. Daily, 51, of Hollywood, Calif., auditioned with Faith Hill’s “Breathe.” Her impassioned performance got Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green to spin their chairs. Both praised her range and her rasp. In the end, E.G. opted to become a member of Team Blake.

Her background: E.G. brings one of the highest-profile resumes to The Voice stage. Among her film and TV roles was a starring gig as Pee Wee Herman’s girlfriend in “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure” (1985). She’s done voice-over work on a host of animated shows, including “The Powerpuff Girls,” “Happy Feet” and as Tommy Pickles in the “Rugrats.” But, throughout a film and TV career that has spanned 30 years, E.G. says she has continued singing. “No matter whether I was acting or not, I was always doing music. I just kept playing clubs and coffeehouses and writing songs.”

On picking Blake: “I picked Blake because I don’t want to play the voice-over card. I want to be here for my singing. And I really love country music. And I feel like he heard my voice.”

What the show didn’t show: E.G. said she was working with an online show called “BalconyTV L.A.” when a colleague said she’d gotten her an audition for something. When E.G. found out that something was The Voice, she wasn’t even sure she’d qualify, given her work history. “I said yes because music is just something I love so much.” E.G.’s musical past includes three albums — “Wild Child” in 1985, “Lace Around the World” in 1989 and “Tearing Down the Walls” in 1999 — plus four more recent singles — “Love in Shadows,” “Changing Faces,” “Beautiful” and “Somebody’s Loving You.” The latter is a country song; most of the others are pop-dance tunes.

Quote: “I woke up one day and said, ‘Wow, I’m getting a little older. I’d better get back to what I love to do.’ And I have to represent to my children (that) no matter what age you are, you’re never too old to chase your dreams.”

On iTunes: You can find all the music listed above, plus her Voice performance.
